Killian Stokes - Moyee Coffee
Killian is a serial social entrepreneur and lecturer in global development with a passion for innovative and inclusive business models that tackle poverty and climate change. He has worked for over twenty years across Europe, Africa, Asia and US in the tech and not for profit industries.
He recently co-founded Moyee Coffee Ireland UK with Shane Reilly to bring ‘Fair Chain’ speciality coffee from the forests and mountains of Ethiopia to consumers in Ireland and the UK. Because Moyee’s FairChain coffee is grown, roasted and bagged in Ethiopia (from bean to bag) it supports five times more jobs, incomes and profits to stay in local hands. Moyee Coffee is currently rolling out the world’s first blockchain powered coffee, digitalising payments to farmers, providing 100% transparency to shoppers (showing who gets paid what along the value chain) and empowering consumers to redistribute wealth in value chains by effectively tipping the farmers to make trade more fair.
Killian holds a BA in Business and Economics (TCD) a Masters in International Relations (DCU) is an Annenberg visiting scholar at Principia College, Illinois and lectures on Business and Global Development at the Quinn School in University College Dublin.
